Pet Loss and Grief Support Group
Thursdays, 6pm - 7:30pm, The Anti-Cruelty Society, 169 W. Grand, Chicago
ACS hosts a pet loss support group for people coping with the death of a pet. The sessions are led by Connie Steutzer, LCSW, who has 20 years experience in grief support work. The group meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month. The group is free, but pre-registration is required for the first visit. www.anticruelty.org

The Furry Friends Summerfest

State Representative Harry Osterman has organized a first of its kind open-air market geared towards pets and their owners. He is inviting pets, their owners and pet-lovers to come out and see what area pet friendly businesses, shelters, hospitals and organizations offer the pet population. Along with opportunities to purchase pet goods, learn about pet services and adopt animals, attendees will also be able to participate in weekly contests and drawings, receive complimentary "doggie bags" and have their pet partake in many of the fun activities being made available such as pet-a-cures, massages and more. All are welcome, but city leash and animal transportation laws still apply and must be followed at all times. The summer market is being co-sponsored by Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control, The Bark Bark Club, and Fetch!.
